Former General Secretary of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) Kwadwo Owusu Afriyie, popularly known as Sir John, has passed away.
He is reported to have died on Wednesday, evening at the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital after a short illness.
The renowned lawyer-cum-politician died after testing positive for the novel Coronavirus, GhanaWeb gathered but there is a new alleged development of what might have killed him going round on social media and its causing stir.
Until his death, Sir John was the CEO of the Forestry Commission — He was appointed as the CEO of the Forestry Commission in March 2017 by President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo.
A video circulating on social media has it that he died from ‘curse” by a Forestry Commission worker — the worker who cursed the former general secretary of the ruling NPP in a video said the Sir John has over the month not paid him.
