Thugs Raid School in Accra, Beat up Female Teacher for Punishing a Student (Video)

Some six men raided the compound of the St . John’s 1 and 2 Primary and Junior High School in Accra New Town and beat up a female teacher and 6 others for punishing a student. According to reports, the class five female teacher punished one of her students for making noise whiles others were reading. The student overreacted (cried excessively) which forced the teacher to send her out to allow for the other students to learn.

The student went home and reported and along came a couple of thugs and hoodlums with whips and sticks. This is what they did to the lady teacher.

This is an unfortunate incident and from the team at NsromaMedia.Com, we believe this is unacceptable. Exposing students to these things and inadvertently so, students will grow up thinking it is alright to send in thugs to beat up teachers.

This is degrading on the teaching profession, an attack on womanhood and abuse on all teachers. When our team spoke to the Regional Education Office, the office assured that it is on top of issues and has stopped school activities in the area until the Police are able to arrest the perpetrators of the act.
We speak on the general falling standards of education in our communities, certainly, incidents like these won’t attract the best in the profession. We must all join hands and speak in unison, condemn this brazen act of barbarism, identify these thugs, and let the laws of the land deal with them, Politician Mustapha Hameed has said.
Sincere apologies to the teacher and all teachers in the school.
