Supreme Court ruling underscored sovereignty of the people – Mahama

On the first anniversary of ruling on the landmark election petition declaring him validly elected as president of Ghana, John Dramani Mahama has lauded the judiciary for “performing its duty diligently and faithfully to the people of Ghana”.

He said the ruling on Thursday, August 29, 2013 underscored the sovereignty of Ghanaians as clearly stated in Article 1 of the 1992 Constitution.

The presidency of John Dramani Mahama was challenged in court a few weeks after the Electoral Commission declared him winner of the 2012 Presidential Elections.

Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia and Jake Obetsebi-Lamptey filed a petition on December 28, 2012 at the Supreme Court against not only John Mahama but also the EC and, later, the National Democratic Congress (NDC).

However, after eight months of tussle, the Supreme Court presided over by Justice William Atuguba dismissed the petition and declared Mr Mahama as validly elected.

“The Supreme Court judgement validated the view that sovereignty springs from the people and that sovereignty resides in the people and that governance springs from the mandate that is given by the people,” President Mahama said on Friday, August 29, 2014 at the Flagstaff House in Accra.

He insinuated that no election can be won outside the mandate of voters.

“So the Supreme Court judgement on the election petition underscored the fact that you cannot get from the courts what you did not get from the people,” he told a gathering of family and friends.

He charged all to see the peaceful aftermath of the verdict as a window of hope Ghana represents on the African continent and the fact that all hands should be on deck in the development agenda of the country.

“Governance is a shared responsibility knowing that Ghana is an established democracy and that we will continue to be the beacon of democracy in Africa.”

Men need six pack to keep ladies of today – Actor Prince David Osei advises men

Actor Prince David Osei advises men

In the past some men prefer pot bellies because it was seen as a sign of wealth and good living which made women have a high preference for such men, but currently such perception is fading at a faster rate.

Now most men do not take pride in having a pot in their bellies hence work very hard to get a very healthy and beautiful body feature; the kind that every lady would love. Most single ladies and married women would expect their man to have a well built body: six packs, flat stomach and some upper body muscle, just to show off.

So, it’s not surprising that actor Prince David Osei has stated categorically that if you’re a man without six packs, chances are that your woman will dump you for a six pack man. According to him, women currently want men who are physically built and have been able to keep their shape and not men with pot bellies.

He made this known while speaking to Nana Ama Mcbrown on her show, Mcbrown’s Kitchen. Below is the excerpt of his candid opinion:

“As a man, while growing up you need to keep the shape together. The ladies now want men who have six packs and have been able to keep their shape together. They want to feel the cut behind your waist when they hug you if not your woman may leave you for a man who has it”.

Well, do you think ladies of today will forgo luxury over broke six packs?? Truth be told, virtually all the ladies I’ve come into contact with will never commit such blunder regardless there exist ladies who’ll choose bedroom ecstasy over a million dollar ????.
