Award-winning Dancehall artiste Stonebwoy, born Livingstone Etse Satekla has warmed hearts on social media with the latest video of him dancing to Shatta Wale’s song, “Freedom”.
The video which was uploaded by fellow musician Desmond Blackmore, known in the entertainment circles as D-Black showed a very lively Stonebwoy dancing his heart out in a nightclub to his colleague’s song.
D-Black who shared the video which has since gone viral captioned it, “Last nite Before the wahala @stonebwoyb at Club Onyx @clubonyxgh jamming to @shattawalenima’s #Freedom jam! If we had genuine love for each other’s music and persons, supported each other selflessly, our industry would be a far more profitable one and we’d reach much greater heights! Unfortunately, this is what our neighbouring countries have over us… Too much hate and pull him down out here … Positivity over Negativity”.
He revealed in his post that Ghanaian musicians needed to support one another but more importantly, support the work of fellow artists instead of taking the approach of envy and ‘pull him down’, his post insinuated.
Shatta Wale and Stonebwoy have been perceived in the media as arch rivals in the dancehall music genre in Ghana. Their rivalry has been so highly patronized that both artists have ended up giving each other nicknames.
Shatta Wale, born Charles Nii Armah Mensah refers to Stonebwoy as “Sergeant Lee” and Stonebwoy, in turn, calls Shatta Wale, “Corporal Nii”. The two award-winning artistes however made headlines in Ghana and on social media when they shared the same stage in one performance at Stonebwoy’s “Ashiaman to the World” concert.
It was at the same concert that Stonebwoy’s wife, Louisa Satekla was attacked by some assailants who initially had the target to attack Stonebwoy.

I nearly aborted DJ Switch when I conceived her – Mother
Mother of Ghana’s youngest DJ, DJ Switch has disclosed that she considered having an abortion while she was pregnant with her daughter.
She remorsefully said on Zylofon 102.1 FM’s Showbiz Agenda that had she known her daughter would have turned out successful, the thought will not have crossed her mind.
“I almost aborted her. I actually went ahead to purchase the drug to terminate the pregnancy but I changed my mind later on”, she said.
According to her, she realized she was with another child six months after having her first child and could not bear the stigma.
“I was the talk of town. Everybody was pointing fingers at me because I had just graduated and in less than two years, was going to be a mother of two”, she added.
However, she expressed her joy in the fact that she restrained from the act and, now her daughter is the most popular young DJ in the country.
