Major Mahama’s family visits Denkyira Obuasi lynching site – See Why They Went

The family of the late Major Maxwell Adam Mahama has visited Denkyira Obuasi to see where the Army officer was killed one month ago.

Among those who went were the mother, father, brother and some family members from Tumu as well as family members of the widow. The posthumous Major was murdered on May 29 by some youth of Denkyira Obuasi in the Central Region on suspicion that he was an armed robber.

The incident reportedly happened after a snail seller spotted a pistol on him when he was on his routine morning jogging and was lynched. When news emerged that they had killed an army officer, a lot of Ghanaians were enraged after a video emerged on social media showing how Major Mahama was killed.

Over the weekend, the Metropolitan Archbishop of the Catholic Archdiocese of Cape Coast, His Grace, Most Rev. Mathias K. Nketsia also visited the people of Denkyira Obuasi and celebrated Mass with them. The Archbishop in his sermon encouraged the people to foster unity in the town and also asked them to work hard to regain the image of the town and its people.

The inhabitants of Denkyira Obuasi have suffered an intense backlash from Ghanaians both home and abroad following the lynching of the late Major. So far, over 30 suspects have been arrested and are facing trial for their involvement in the murder of the Major.

Following the incident, a lot of the residents are fleeing the area and some have complained of being discriminated against elsewhere where they have sought refuge. But the Most Rev. Mathias K. Nketsia explained that the Catholic Church had to take that step to help the community go through this difficult period.

He said it is part of a healing process for the community and people should not shun them, as it is a show of spiritual support for the people to reflect on what has happened. The Metropolitan Archbishop said it also helps when people forgive them after the terrible experience.

He charged the inhabitants to demonstrate deeds that will help them redeem the image of the community that is going through vilification and finger pointing. According to a family member who was part of those that visited Denkyira Obuasi Thursday, the residents were taken aback when they saw them.

He sad they looked gloomy considering what had happened but there was no official interaction with the family.

Tekashi 6ix9ine Continues To Instigate Beef With Chief Keef & Chicago Rappers

Tekashi 6ix9ine isn’t concerned about his well being, apparently.
Tekashi 6ix9ine’s is no stranger when it comes to beef. In fact, it seems as if he thrives off of it. While his feud with Trippie Redd has died down, he’s been beefing with many Chicago rappers, namely Chief Keef and the GBE crew. Over the weekend, Chief Keef was shot at during his stay at The W in Time Square. Thankfully, the shooters missed but many speculated that Tekashi 6ix9ine may have had some sort of involvement in it. The “GUMMO” rapper has completely denied it but it looks like he’s still into trolling the Chicago emcee and his crew.

Tekashi 6ix9ine can be considered more of a troll than a rapper and his latest Instagram post might further prove this. The rapper shared an incredibly short clip on his Instagram saying: “How mad would y’all be if I said I was the new king of Chicago?”

He’s clearly warranting a response from one of the Chicago rappers, whether it’s in person or on Instagram. The rapper caused an uproar after he claimed to be the “King Of New York.” 50 Cent may have co-signed it but there was definitely many others that haven’t been feeling the sentiment.

Earlier today, 6ix9ine was interviewed on TMZ where he spoke about the situation with Chief Keef. He completely denied any sort of involvement in the shooting, although it coincidentally happened after 6ix9ine reignited the feud with Chief Keef.

“I guess Chief Keef, he’s a gangsta rapper. He promotes violence. I mean, I guess he has a lot of beef on these streets. I don’t know who he’s beefing with that’ll hurt him but it’s definitely not me. I’m actually a fan,” he said.
