Kwame Sefa Kayi — I Deserve To Be Named ‘Journalist Of The Year’

Published

on

Peace Fm’s morning show host Kwame Sefa Kayi has commented on the brouhaha surrounding his win of the ‘Journalist of the Year’ award at the 2017 Ghana Journalist Association (GJA) awards night.

The veteran broadcaster’s win has generated intense debate as some have argued that his presenting job is not exactly in the same category as reporters out in the field bringing out stories.

The ‘Kokrokoo’ host has responded to the issue for the first time and according to him, he believes he deserved the award. He also rubbished some who were saying someone of his stature should be above GJA awards.

“…I deserve this award. Some say I’m above it. I don’t know whether to reject it. I don’t think I’m better than anybody…” Sefa Kayi said.

Speaking on Uniiq Fm, he said it’s nice to be recognized by his peers and as a professional, he would run to collect any award he wins, even if its coming from the ‘Konkomba yam sellers.’

Sarkodie, Yvonne Nelson, Stonebwoy, Others Express Support For Kwaw Kese’s Ambulance Rant

Rapper Kwaw Kese has received backing from colleagues in the Ghanaian entertainment industry on his rants about the state of leadership in the country.

A video posted via his Instagram account finds the self-professed crazy rapper lashing out at the New Patriotic Party government over its failure to improve health care issues in Ghana.

Kwaw Kese couldn’t believe that with all the stories of people dying due to lack of ambulances, the stories of hospitals without enough beds to take care of Ghanaians, the NPP is wasting money buying 275 buses for the party.

“It is stupidity and foolishness that a political party can buy 275 buses for its activities when the country is currently struggling with just 55 ambulances. God will continue punishing Ghana and our leaders must start dying one by one.” stated a visibly angry Kese in the video posted early this week.

His comments were supported by many including Sarkodie, Stonebwoy, Yvonne Nelson, Captain Planet and D Cryme.
