Kan Dapaah breaks silence on leaked video, says he was investigating the lady – Watch Video

The Minister of National Security, Albert Kan Dapaah is trending on social media after a recording of a video call with an unknown lady was leaked on this morning.

In the video, Mr. Kan Dapaah can be heard being ‘ordered’ by the young woman to show off his pajamas among other things.

While most Ghanaians who posted and commented on the video have laughed it off, some have not been so kind to the Minister who appeared excited in the trending video.

Many have described his action as reckless and a dent to his portfolio as the National Security Minister for the country.

Concerns have also been raised about how the Minister missed the fact that he was being recorded and why he eagerly relayed personal details about his trip and a subsequent meeting to a ‘lover’ he could not see.

Immediately after the leaked video, a rejoinder purported to have come from the minister has been circulating on social media.

Below is the purported rejoinder from the Hon. Minister Albert Kan Dapaah concerning the leaked video.

My attention has been drawn to a video circulating on social media purported to be a recorded conversation of myself and a friend.

The said conversation is first of all, part of a broader series of conversations in an effort to uncover persons behind attempts to gather material which could be used to compromise key personalities. Security sector persons routinely employ various methods including baits to uncover cells. This conversation is one such effort.

Secondly, the recording of this conversation and a second telephone conversation of a different subject have been doctored to achieve a false impression of untoward conduct by myself.

Thankfully, an operation related to this matter was successful in retrieving the original and the edited versions of some of the materials. Persons associated with it are subjects of an ongoing investigation known to the relevant security hierarchy.

I assure the Ghanaian public that nothing compromising, untoward or undermining has been occasioned.
