on

Will there be happiness in a marriage where the bride is blind and the groom is crippled? How can the two cope if there is a fire outbreak or an unfortunate incident happens? This is the fate of blind Jackie Appiah who marries Prince David Osei in a new movie titled Happy Never After.

Written and directed by Kobbi Rana, Happy Never After is scheduled for premiere on Saturday, October 8, at the Silverbird Cinemas.

Produced by Verdant Media Production, other cast members are Nana Ama McBrown, Roselyn Ngissah, James Gardiner, Chris Lein Brown, Toosweet Annan, Benedicta Gafah and Nancy Adom.

In an interview with Showbiz, Kobbi Rana who directed the movie said Happy Never After is one of the best he has written because it teaches many lessons.

According to him, he was motivated by the many troubles couples go through in marriage , hence, the decision to write the movie.

“Married and the unmarried are going to learn a lot from this movie and I want them to come in their numbers and see the movie because it is full of lessons,” he stated.

Royal Diadem, a movie from Verdant Media Production, grabbed nominations at the Golden Movie Awards last year and Kobby is hopeful their new production will grab awards at this year’s Ghana Movie Awards.

I nearly aborted DJ Switch when I conceived her – Mother

Mother of Ghana’s youngest DJ, DJ Switch has disclosed that she considered having an abortion while she was pregnant with her daughter.

She remorsefully said on Zylofon 102.1 FM’s Showbiz Agenda that had she known her daughter would have turned out successful, the thought will not have crossed her mind.

“I almost aborted her. I actually went ahead to purchase the drug to terminate the pregnancy but I changed my mind later on”, she said.

According to her, she realized she was with another child six months after having her first child and could not bear the stigma.

“I was the talk of town. Everybody was pointing fingers at me because I had just graduated and in less than two years, was going to be a mother of two”, she added.

However, she expressed her joy in the fact that she restrained from the act and, now her daughter is the most popular young DJ in the country.
