The controversial football administrator claims Asamoah Gyan is only focused on money at the expense of his form for the Black Stars of Ghana Former BA United and Berekum Arsenal official Takyi Arhin has taken a swipe at Ghana captain Asamoah Gyan concerning his reported move to Chinese side Shanghai SIPG.
The 29-year-old striker arrived in China on
Wednesday and is expected to finalise a three-
year deal which includes weekly earnings of
$250,000, according to sources.

Arhin claims Gyan is now concentrating on his
pocket to the detriment of the national team.
“Asamoah Gyan has to be told plainly that the
money he is getting is too much. He and his
family are now only interested in money at the
expense of Ghana,” Arhin told Kumasi-based
Angel FM .

“When he left Sunderland for UAE, we managed to contain it. With his new move, there will be some decline. What kind of competitive football is played in China?
“He has to think about the nation as well and
not just his pocket,” Arhin added.

Gyan was highly successful at Al Ain during his
four-year term. He won three UAE Pro League
titles, the President’s Cup and the Arabian Gulf
Super Cup.

On the personal level, he won the top-scorer
award of the UAE Pro-League three consecutive times, as well as the AFC Champions League top scorer in 2014 and the 2014 AFC foreign player of the year.
