Reigning Highlife Singer Bisa Kdei has responded to several commentaries making rounds in the media circle about his stage performance.

For some time now, the “Mansa” hit maker has been labeled a bad stage performer event after event. According critics Bisa does not take his stage craft serious and he looks boring on stage in spite of the fact that he has a number of hit songs.

Bisa performed at Ghana Music Awards nominees jam which happened at the Ho Jubilee Park on Saturday April 9, 2016 and again his performance has been rated below average.

Responding to critics and entertainment pundits who keep labeling him as a bad performer, Bisa has stated that its their opinion and pleaded not be compared to other artistes because his style is different from what everybody is doing.

Speaking in an interview with Abeiku Santana on Okay FM’s “Ekwaso dwo dwo” drive time program, Bisa said he cannot not be jumping around on stage like other artiste because he is a Highlife crooner.

“It is their opinion and everybody is entitled to their view. I have been on so many stages where I make several people happy”.

“I want to use this opportunity to say that sometimes people say things for me to look bad in the eyes of people, as if by saying Bisa Kdei didn’t do well at all on stage, the crowd was complaining that they didn’t appreciate my performance”.

Asked if he is privy to some of the issues raised concerning his stage-craft especially in the media, he said he hears everything but he doesn’t allow all those negative comments to bring him down but to rather make him stronger.

“The thing is, you shouldn’t try to compare me with some other artistes because I am trying to blend in with my style. It is not every song that you can hop or jump to. I am a Highlife artiste and I am trying to blend into the system”.

Bisa was one of the popular artistes in 2015 with two strong hits “Mansa” and “Brother Brother”. He has been nominated in various categories in the upcoming Vodafone Ghana Music Awards including the ultimate “Artiste(s) of the year”.

Bisa Kdei has just released a new single titled “Pillow” featuring Mugees of R2Bees and he has also billed to perform on the VGMAs awards night on May 7 at the Accra International Conference Centre.

Ebony’s funeral invitation finally out

We have sighted a photo of an invitation card for the funeral of late dancehall act, Ebony Reigns, known in real life as Priscilla Opoku-Kwarteng, which has started making rounds on social media.

The invitation to the funeral is reportedly coming from the family of the late singer who are expecting a mammoth crowd during the final funeral rites of their late family member.

According to details of the card, family of the late award-winning dancehall act were inviting Ghanaians to partake in the solemn ceremony which is slated for March 24.

The funeral is expected to take place at the forecourt of the State House on Accra with her final resting place going to be the Osu Cemetary.

Not too long ago, father of the ‘Date Ur Fada’ singer, Nana Opoku Kwarteng revealed the official cloth to be used for the funeral of her daughter.

In an interview with Joy News, Mr. Nana Opoku Kwarteng revealed that he had a hard time sleeping, so did some of his family members, especially, Ebony’s sister.

He also used the opportunity to ‘appeal’ for support from well-meaning Ghanaians who wanted to contribute to make Ebony’s funeral a memorable one.

A tribute concert is scheduled to take place on March 23 in honor of the 21-year-old singer in which many artistes have been billed to perform.

Ebony died in a gory accident on the Sunyani-Kumasi road while returning to Accra from Sunyani. Her childhood friend and PA, Franky Kuri and one air force official, Francis Atsu Vondee, who posed as a bodyguard also died in the car crash.

The final funeral rites and burial service of the late Dancehall diva Ebony Reigns have been scheduled for March 24, 2018 instead of the first date, March 17. The postponement follows difficulties to secure a big enough venue for the funeral.
