Sammy Anim Addo, who is the business manager of Black Stars general captain, Asamoah Gyan, has responded to reports linking the Ghana legend with a move to Asante Kotoko.
Rumors circulating in the Ghanaian media lately indicate that new Asante Kotoko Chief Executive Officer, Nana Yaw Amponsah, will try and sign Ghana’s all-time top scorer for the Porcupine Warriors.
The GFA Executive Council Member in a conversation with Graphic Sports said the record Ghana Premier League winners are yet to formally contact the player or his representatives about any potential transfer.
Anim Addo also added that Kotoko are only relying on the 34-year-old’s public admission of love for the club but are yet to make an approach.
He, however, pointed out Gyan’s preparedness to join the club if they can match his requests.
“Kotoko have said they like him because he once stated that he’ll one day play for Kotoko, but for now no club has approached him with any offer,” Mr. Anim Addo said.
“Gyan has had offers from Europe and Asia, but if Kotoko can meet our terms, then why not?”
Gyan, who is Ghana’s all-time top scorer with 51 goals, is without a club after his contract with Indian top-flight side, North East United expired in January.
