Adenta Astroturf Was Mistakenly Included In The Listed Completed Projects – Kojo Oppong
Information Minister, Kojo Oppong Nkrumah has indicated that the Adenta AstroTurf as a part of the completed project was an error.
Kojo Oppong said the team in charge of verifying projects mistakenly included a ‘ghost’ project during their checks.
“Well MMDCEs forward the dataset in..it turns out that it was inaccurate, verifications were done and I’m sure they missed it”, he said on Joy News PM Express.
However, he debunked rumours from the National Democratic Congress (NDC) that the New Patriotic Party (NPP) had included 26 other projects which are not existing.
“Even if you took out that one or give or take the 26 that our colleagues in the NDC say that they had a challenge with, some of which I have seen tonight [and] even online, people go back to those places and say that ‘but that can’t be true’. We see these projects and put some of the videos online”, he added.
The NDC initially rumoured that the NPP listed 26 ‘ghost’ projects on the government’s delivery tracker website.
The NDC mocked the ruling government that the achievements which were presented by the Vice President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia on Tuesday were “a cocktail of blatant falsehoods, ghost projects, and stolen projects”.
The minister of information replied to these statements from the NDC that the NPP has been able to provide the country with a credible database of all their completed and ongoing projects, unlike the NDC that has not been able to.
“The challenge has been to the colleagues on the other side to produce a database of how many projects they have done so that you can do the comparisons,” he said.
