A Taylor believed to be in his 60s by name Taylor Kofi Gyamina has burnt beyond recognition as a result of a fire outbreak that happened at a mechanical workshop at Asamankese of the Lower West Akim Municipal in the Eastern Region on 31st December 2019.
In an exclusive interview with the lower West Akim Municipal National Disaster Management Organization (NADMO) Director Mr. Addo Kwasi Andoh, he explained that, He received a call around 10:30PM yesterday that a mechanical shop is under fire so he quickly called the Fire Service and the police personnel to rushed to the scene but after they were able to quench the fire, the man was seen burnt beyond recognition in his kiosk where he ( Taylor Kofi Gyamina) stays.
According to Mr. Kwasi Andoh, the man is said to be a Stroke Patient so due to his health conditions, he couldn’t rescue himself when the fire started burning the kiosk. The decease body has since been deposited at the Asamankese government morgue.
He continued that, seven shops and several properties were burnt in addition to the kiosk so he has asked the Affected individuals to come to the office tomorrow for the necessary assessment to be done.
The cause of the fire has not yet been identified but it is alleged that, Taylor Kofi was burning mosquito coil in the kiosk that led to the fire outbreak.
He finally Advised the general public especially those with stores/shops to adopt the habit of acquiring fire extinguisher in their shops and must also be very vigilant when using mosquito coil and candle in this dry/ harmattan season.
